The Federation provides a forum for consultation and analysis of financial, legal, and technical challenges for insurance companies. These discussions take place within working commissions and committees. Led by the teams at France Assureurs, they bring together the Federation’s members and address both current and future key challenges of the sector.
Committee on Professional Conduct
Chair: Laurent LEVENEUR, Professor at the university Panthéon-Assas
The Committee on Professional Conduct, chaired by an independent figure, reviews any ethical commitment proposal that the sector wishes to adopt.
Included in the Federation’s Code of Ethics, these commitments govern the relationship between insurance companies and their policyholders.
Once adopted by the France Assureurs’ governing bodies, the committee ensures compliance with these commitments within the insurance sector.
Personal Insurance Commission
Chair: Jean MALHOMME, Director of Risk Management, AXA France
The Personal Insurance Commission plays a role of reflection, study, and proposal regarding legislative, regulatory, and conventional aspects of health, life, savings, provident, and pension insurance.
Property and Liability Insurance Commission
Chair: Stéphane DUROULE , Managing Director of Offers and Services, Covéa Group
This commission addresses all issues relating to property and liability insurance: motor, home, agricultural, commercial, construction, transport, legal protection, etc.
Digital Commission
Chair: Yann ARNAUD, Director, Aéma Group / Director of Societal Needs and Innovation, Macif
The Digital Commission helps the sector navigate digital transformation in response to new behaviours and uses, along with emerging business models.
It also coordinates the work of other France Assureurs bodies on digital topics, while acting as technological watch and providing open, specialized expertise on innovations.
Social Affairs Commission
Chair: Véronique JOLLY, Human Resources Director, Matmut Group
The Social Affairs Commission is a body for consultation and study regarding branch-level collective bargaining and all current social issues affecting the sector.
Its three main missions are to:
– identify future human challenges and consider ways to address them,
– foster social dialogue within the sector,
– represent the sector in labour and employment matters, both in applying regulations and in evolving legal frameworks.
Economic and Financial Commission
Chair: Thomas BEHAR, Group CFO, CNP Assurances
The Economic and Financial Commission deals with all economic or financial matters likely to impact the functioning, results, or solvency of insurance companies.
It addresses matters that are national, European, or international.
Legal, Tax, and Competition Commission
Chair: Angélique SELLIER LEVILLAIN, Legal Director, Allianz France
This commission addresses legal, tax, and competition issues in the insurance sector.
Anti-Money Laundering Commission
Chair: Mourad DJEMILI, Secretary-General, BPCE Assurances
The Anti-Money Laundering Commission deals with matters related to combating financial crime and terrorism financing.
It ensures that AML regulations are aligned with insurers’ obligations under the Insurance Code and promotes the effective development of proportionate and appropriate vigilance procedures adapted to different types of insurance contracts.
Risk Analysis Commission
Chair: Thibault JACOB, Chief Risk Officer, BPCE Assurances
The Risk Analysis Commission is tasked with forward-looking risk management. It identifies weak signals and gathers key sectoral issues: regulatory watch, compliance, best professional practices, insurability of risks, etc.
This proactive approach helps the sector prevent issues by acting early and better controlling upcoming challenges..
Distribution Customer Committe
Chair: Richard CHÂTELET, Managing Director, AXA Prévoyance & Patrimoine
The Distribution Customer Committee plays a role in reflecting on and making proposals regarding insurance distribution matters.
It covers all distribution modes and channels, examines national, European, and international issues and monitors relations with insurance intermediaries.
Reinsurance Commission
Chair: Arthur DUTEL, Key Account Manager, Swiss Re Europe SA
In collaboration with the French Reinsurance Professionals Association (APREF), this commission addresses reinsurance matters in property and liability insurance along with life insurance.
It aims to provide insurers with reinsurers’ global perspective and long-term risk analysis, whether known or emerging.
Sustainable Development Commission
Chair: François GARREAU, Head of CSR Mission to the Executive Committee, Generali France
As insurers’ core mission is to assess, anticipate, and manage long-term risks, they are particularly engaged with sustainable development in its three dimensions: economic, social, and environmental.
The Sustainable Development Commission informs members about industry priorities that directly or indirectly impact insurers’ CSR policies.
It organises and contributes to initiatives through meetings and public statements on current issues, particularly climate change adaptation.
It also develops tools, studies, and works (charters, indicators, guides, risk mapping) to promote, improve, or harmonise CSR practices across the sector.
